DESK ORGANIZER

If your desk is anything like ours used to be—covered in mail, pens, and random papers—then you’ll love this project as much as we do. We built this desk caddy (also known as a desk organizer) to bring a little order (and style) to the chaos.

Inspired by the classic secretary desk, this caddy features pigeonholes for mail, small drawers for supplies, and a decorative top piece that adds just the right amount of charm. It’s designed to sit on top of any desk or work surface, so it’s easy to add to your space without major changes.

This isn’t just a pretty piece—it’s also a great skill builder. Along the way, you’ll get hands-on practice with:

• Sliding dovetail joints for strong, invisible construction

• Half-blind dovetail drawers for durable, good-looking storage

• Shaping with a scroll saw or jigsaw on the decorative top

• Turning drawer pulls on a lathe for a custom finishing touch
